NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Clyde McKinney, 86, formerly of Pineville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, at his home after an illness. Born March 27, 1915, in Basin, he was the son of the late Ballard Preston and Alice McKinney. Mr. McKinney was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Gene McKinney; and three sisters, Sylvia, Doro-thy and Goldie. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Viola Ruth McKinney of Little River; a son, Douglas Clyde and his wife, Penny Mc-Kinney, of North Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Erie McKinney of Mansfield, Ohio, and Hubert McKinney of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Clara Lee Lusk of Wayside and Gertrude Hawley of Pineville; three grandchildren, Jennifer Green of Saulsville and Wendy and Summer Mc-Kinney, both of North Myrtle Beach; and two great-grandchildren, Derric Austin Green and Jordan Douglas McKinney. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, with the Revs. Glen Hatfield and Gil-bert Dodson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Palm Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Lee Funeral Home of Little River, North Myrtle Beach.
