MOUNT AIRY, N.C. -- Dariel McMillion, 72, formerly of Nettie, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at his home following a long illness. Born July 22, 1926, in Nettie, he was the son of the late James Everette and Willodena Fields McMillion. Mr. McMillion was a carpenter and a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Nettie. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Peggy, Violet, Sarie and Verna; and three brothers, James Everette, Clinton Lewis and Orville McMillion. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bays McMillion; a stepdaughter, Shirley McMillion of Mount Airy; a stepson, Wayne Keithley of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Verlis Haley of Tennessee and Geraldine Famie of Ohio; a brother, Guy McMillion of Nettie; a grandson, Clinton James McMillion; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Olive Branch Baptist Church, Nettie, with the Rev. Larry Gawthrop officiating. Burial will follow in Fields Cemetery, Nettie.
