PIERPOINT -- Aeron Morgan, 74, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at his home following a short illness. Born Feb. 2, 1924, at Pierpoint, he was the son of the late James Bernard and Lake Erie Halsey Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a lifelong resident of Pierpoint, where he was a member of the Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a former coal miner at Maben and a retired employee of the Wyoming County Board of Education as a bus driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Elizabeth Morgan, Nov. 25, 1988; a sister, Leona Toney; and five brothers, Ted, Carl, Roscoe, Clarence and Herb Morgan. Survivors include two daughters, Regina Sizemore and her husband, Robert, of Saulsville, and Mona Tilley and her husband, Ricky, of Ravencliff; two sons, Billy Morgan and his wife, Donna, of Mullens, and James Morgan and his wife, Ena, of Beckley; three brothers, Everette Morgan and Orion Morgan, both of Mullens, and Willie Morgan of Princeton; eight grandchildren, Holly and Aaron Sizemore, Brian Morgan, April and Sierra Tilley and Cassie, Dustin and Jordan Morgan. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pierpoint Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles "Butch" Acord and Elder Jerry McGrady officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow 2 p.m. Friday at the Dowdy Cemetery, Glace. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens, and one hour before the services Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be Robert Sizemore, Ricky Tilley, Bill Shelton, Anthony Reed, David Stover, John, Joey and Mickey Morgan, Rodney Boothe and Keith and Kevin Hoke.
