Katherine Evelyn Plumley, 57, of Mabscott, died 5:15 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2001, at the home of her daughter Linda Plumley following a long illness. Born June 18, 1944, at Quinnimont, she was the daughter of Charles W. Plumley of Irish Mountain Road and Alma Plumley of Irish Mountain Road. Mrs. Plumley was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God Worship Center in MacArthur. She had been a resident of Mabscott for the past six years, living most of her life at Abraham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson L. Plumley; and a brother, Daniel Plumley. Survivors include three sons, Michael L. Plumley, Wilson C. Plumley and Phillip D. Plumley, all of Mabscott; two daughters, Linda L. Plumley and husband, Jarrell, of Cool Ridge and Alice L. Plumley and husband, Jonathan, of Beckley; a brother, William Plumley of Pluto; five sisters, Janice Adkins of Hinton, Louella Nutter of Oak Hill, Ida Lea Surratt of California, Elizabeth Adkins of Shady Spring, and Sandra Burns of California; grandchildren, Jarrell Plumley Jr., Melinda Price and Jonathan Plumley Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Katlin N. Price and Alyssa L. Price. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Pastor Mark Schrade officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Plumley Cemetery, Plumley Mountain. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
