OCEANA -- Henry Pierce Pruett, 63, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, at his home following a long illness. Born March 27, 1935, at Helen, he was the son of the late Harvey Albert and Lillian Grace Sheppard Pruett. Mr. Pruett worked at the Eastern Associated Coal Company for 9 years and was owner of Lambs Gulf and Oceana Auto Parts before his retirement. He was a member of Toneda Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Jean Lamb Pruett; two daughters, Rhonda Gail Brown and her husband, Damon, Kara Sue Bragg and her husband, Jimmy, and a son, Henry Allan Pruett and his wife, Connie, all of Oceana; five grandchildren, Christy and Billy Brown, Jeremy and Drew Bragg and Allison Pruett; a great-grandson, Tyler Brown; a brother, Robert Pruett and his wife, Jean of Alexandria, Va.; a niece, Robin Pruett of Chantilly, Va.; and a nephew, Brian Pruett of Alexandria, Va. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Toneda Baptist Church with the Rev. Dewight Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens. Friends called Sunday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, and may call one hour before services today at the church. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
