MEADOW CREEK - Elmer Fairbanks Richmond, 95, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999, in a Hinton hospital following a short illness. Born Feb. 16, 1904, at New Salem, Raleigh County, he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Eunice Buckland Richmond. Mr. Richmond was a lifelong resident of Meadow Creek, a retired section foreman for C&O Railway and a member of Sandstone Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nettie Hoke Richmond; two sons, Billy Joe Richmond and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Grandview and Bob F. Richmond and his wife, Shirley, of Meadow Creek; two granddaughters, Carolyn Sue Twohig and her husband, Richard, of Elton and Sharon Richmond of Grandview; two grandsons, Robert Richmond and his wife, Amy, and Joseph Richmond and friend, Kelly Lilly, all of Meadow Creek; two great-grandsons, Gary and Christopher Twohig of Elton; a great-granddaughter, Amber Richmond of Meadow Creek; a sister, Delphia Goodson of Beckley; and three brothers, Ray Richmond and his wife, Imogene, of Olmstead Township, Ohio, Carl Richmond and his wife, Vonda, of Louisville, Ky., and Russell Richmond of Lakeland, Fla. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral parlors.
