Paul R. Scarbro


Paul Ray Scarbro, 49, of Clear Creek, died 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 2, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Aug. 16, 1949, at Clear Creek, he was the son of Mamie Workman Scarbro Suttle of Clear Creek and the late James Dempsey Scarbro. Mr. Scarbro was a disabled coal miner, member of UMWA Local No. 1503, and member of Workman's Creek Methodist Church. He had lived in Clear Creek most of his life, and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. She was preceded in death by his stepfather, Cecil Suttle; and his stepmother, Geneva Scarbro. Other survivors include his wife, Joyce "Kitty" Stover Scarbro; a son, Allen Scarbro and his wife, Marinda, of Clear Creek; a daughter, Angela Williams and her husband, Lonnie, of Sandbranch; three brothers, Clee Roy Scarbro of Clear Creek, and James Scarbro and Danny Scarbro, both of Dalton, Ga.; a sister, Patricia Cooper and her husband, Starlin, of Harper; four g
