CHURCHTON, Md. - Myrtle Lillian Smith, 90, formerly of Scarbro, went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 6, 2001, at Ann Arundel Medical Center, Annapolis, Md., of natural causes. She was born Nov. 25, 1910, in Lamar, Va. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude G. "Smitty" Smith; and a son, Eugene Downey. Survivors include three sons, John Smith and his wife, Audrey, of Churchton, Thorton Downey and his wife, Joyce, of Toledo, Ohio, and Darrold Smith and his wife, Roni, of Churchton; five granddaughters, four grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Revs. Dorothy Osborne and Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
