The church is located on Rt. 3 (state road). There are two cemeteries–a very old graveyard on the left side of the church and one in which there are more recent graves on the hill, to the right of the church. They both are Shumate Family Cemeteries but include a few graves of unrelated members of the church.

The last four graves are located in the back section of the old graveyard, which contains graves of former slaves. There may be more graves in this section, as a recently constructed dirt road, bulldozed out to reach a lot at the back of the church, and running precariously close to the old graveyard, unfortunately appears to have possibly disturbed some of the remains buried there.
