PAX - James Preston Stover, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, in a Beckley area hospital following a long illness. Born June 20, 1938, in Fayette County, he was the son of the late Ernie and Helen Wriston Stover. Mr. Stover was a logger. Mr. Stover was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon; a brother, William Edward Stover; and a sister, Loretta Carol Stover. Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Doris Williams Stover; four sons, Bobby and his wife Cheryl of Lively, Ernie and his companion Lyn-ette of Pax, and Curtis and Richard, both of Lively; seven daughters, Vickie Huber and her companion Wayne Lloyd of Fayetteville, Helen Murdock and her husband Larry of Princeton, Alice Maynor and her husband, Gary, of Pax, Kim Dillon and her husband, Jimmy, of Long Branch, Kelly Peak of Pax, Jennifer Williamson of Pax, and Amanda Allen and her husband, Rodney, of Pax; a stepson, Dennis Ferris and his wife, Sherry, of Summersville; four stepdaughters, Tammy Young and her husband, Ron, of Beckley, Sue Burton and her husband, Michael, of Maple Fork, Patty Maynor and her husband, Donald, of Maple Fork and Nancy Cochran and her husband, Danny, of Beckley; six brothers, Russell, Howard, Gene, and Winton, all of Dayton, Ohio, Herman of Duluth, Minn., and Curtis of Maple Fork; four sisters, Anna Lee Sutphin of Dayton, Ohio, Edith Vest of Marion, Ind., Shirley Hinkle of Shady Spring, and Wanda Trzicak of Price Hill; 16 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Harmon Davis and Tom Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Sam Davis Cemetery, Maple Fork.
