Hobert E. Taylor


ASBURY -- Hobert Eugene Taylor, 68, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, at his home following an extended battle with A.L.S., Lou Gehrigs Disease. Born March 10, 1931, in Boone County, he was the son of Everett Taylor of Whitesville, and the late Jessie Dorsey Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a member of Orient Hill Tabernacle, Orient Hill, an 11-year resident of Asbury, and retired from General Motors of Parma, Ohio, with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Hubert Taylor and a halfsister, Gladys Barrett. Other survivors include his wife of 43 years, Emma Jean Taylor; his father and stepmother, Everett Taylor and Maggie Taylor of Whitesville; three daughters, Karen Short and Phyllis Wagner and her husband, Joe, all of Asbury, and Nancy Rezabek and her husband, Joe, of Strongsville, Ohio; a son, Boyd Wayne Taylor of Lorain, Ohio; a sister, Linda Hapney of Peytona; six brothers, Homer Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio, Harold Taylor of Bloomingrose, Hershel Taylor of Whitesville, Henry Taylor of Cleveland, Harry Taylor of Cleveland, and Harley Taylor Sr. of Whitesville; 10 grandchildren, Boyd Wayne Taylor Jr. of Middlefield, Ohio, Justin Taylor of Cleveland, Aaron Robinette of Cleveland, Rachel Hanna of Lewisburg, Daryll Short of Lakewood, Ohio, Jessica Wagner of Parma, Ohio, Jillian Wagner of Parma, Ohio, Saul Nevarez of Freemont, Ohio, Marco Nevarez of Freemont, Olivia Nevarez of Freemont; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brandon, Ethan, Cheyenne, Sierra and Devonte; and one step-great-great grandchild, Jasmine Monique. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel, Rainelle, with the Revs. Shirley Hellms and Homer Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Cemetery, Asbury. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Brothers will serve as pallbearers.
