Donell Thompson, 69, of 300 Bair St., Beckley, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born March 18, 1930, at Whitby, he was the son of the late Pete Thom-pson and Mamie Bratcher Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a supervisor for the street department for the Town of Moorestown, N.J. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Delilah and Mae; three brothers, Victor, Elgin "Buck" and Clifford Thompson. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Leonard Thompson; his children, David Thompson and his wife, Kelly, of Charles County, Md., Michael Thompson and Kenny Swanson, both of Beckley, Larry of New Jersey, Donna Harrison and her husband, Jeffrey, of Richmond, Va., Robin Crawford of Lumberton, N.J., Nichole of Media, Pa., and Lorene and Diane; two brothers, Pete Thompson and Joe Thompson, both of Detroit; three sisters, Virginia Walker of Beckley, Elnora Farris of Detroit and Mildred Hash of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Madelene Thompson of Beckley and Jacqueline Walker of Long Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be noon Saturday at the Free and Independent Holiness Church, Beckley, with Bishop Ernest Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
