LYNCO - Freddie Gene Toler, 64, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born March 17, 1937, at Simon, he was the son of the late Naymon and Norie Trent Toler. Mr. Toler was a paraplegic since a mining accident at the Lynco mines on February 16, 1967. He was a resident of Lynco for the past 25 years and was of the Holiness faith. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Ann Toler Toler; a daughter, Betty Toler and her husband, Rayvon, of Lynco; a son, Gary Winston Toler and his wife, Melissa, of Chapmanville; nine sisters, Delores Harvey of Clear Fork, Cordie Toler of Clear Fork, Othiel Blankenship of Brenton, Charlotte Allen and her husband, Ray, of Cleveland, Ohio, Alice Hanshaw and her husband, Teddy, of Brenton, Porsha Scoglietti and her husband, Fred, of Cleveland, Ohio, Patricia Raleigh and her husband, Charles, of Cleveland, Ohio, Dianna Ellis and her husband, Buck, of Oceana, and Ugonda Massey and her husband, Bill, of Lynco; three brothers, Larry Toler and his wife, Sandra, of Baileysville, Benny Toler and his wife, Linda, of Baileysville, and Benjamin Toler of Virginia; two grandchildren, Brian Keith Toler and his wife, Misty, of Baileysville, and Jordon Levi Toler of Chapmanville; and a host of nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with Brother Otto Hensley and Brother Paul Farrington officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
