SAULSVILLE - Field Supervisor Stevie Ray Trent, 48, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001, in a Winston-Salem, N.C., hospital following multiple organ cancer. Born July 30, 1953, at Pine-ville, he was the son of Raymond and Clara Bishop Trent of Monroe, Ohio. Mr. Trent was a field supervisor for the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department. He was a deputy with 24 years of service and was a former city police officer in Oceana, Pineville and Mullens. He was a member of the West Virginia Deputy Sheriff's Association, Fraternal Order of Police and the Monroe Old Time Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charlie and Alma Bishop; and his paternal grandparents, Ance and Mazie Trent. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Pamela England Trent; a daughter, Ericka Trent of the home; a sister, Cynthia Trent of Monroe, Ohio; and a host of friends and the law enforcement community. Reflections of Steve's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel in Pineville. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Mausoleum B, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Wyoming County Courthouse in Pineville. Members of the law enforcement community will serve as pallbearers.
