Roy Jackson Williams, 87, of Naoma, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in the Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, after a long illness. Born May 12, 1914, at Jarrolds Valley, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Deanie Raines Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired coal miner and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mollie Williams, Artie Dempsey and Sarah Cooper; and five brothers, Harry L., Floyd, Garcie, Arthur and Clyde. Survivors include a nephew whom he raised, Vernon Williams of Naoma; a sister, Virginia Tolliver of Andover, Ohio; two brothers, Wilson of Naoma and Harvey of Bluefield, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, with the Rev. Charles Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in RJW Cemetery, Hunter Addition, Naoma.
