FAIRDALE - Bobby Williams, 62, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Raleigh General Hospital. He was born May 13, 1939, in Green Sulphur Springs to the late Robert Williams and Grace Pack Williams of Beckley. Mr. Wil-liams was an employee of Crown America at the Crossroads Mall. He was a retiree of the UMWA with 17 years in the coal mines, 11 of which were spent at Beckley Coal in Stover. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member and trustee of Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving father, husband and friend, who gave his family a life of joy and happiness. He is now reunited with his father, sister, Mary Edith, and his father-in-law, Otis Martin, in heaven, where he is reaping the rewards in the life he led. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Betty Martin Williams; his son, Dwayne Lewis Williams, who is currently serving in the Army in Washington, D.C.; his daughter, Christy Ann Cochran and husband, Noah Cochran of Crab Orchard; his granddaughter, Taylor Paige Cochran; two brothers, Charles Williams of Green Sulphur Springs and David Williams of Jumping Branch; his mother-in-law, Loreta Martin of Rainelle; his selected grandchildren, Amity Morgan and Lauryn Birchfield, and a wonderful church family and a host of friends. Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Beckley. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Randy, Toney and Michael Williams, David Berry and his special friends, Lincoln and Jeff Birchfield.
