CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. Nellie Mae Williams, 78, formerly of Lester, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 30, 1999. Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Shady Spring, she was the daughter of the late Jordan and Ada Morris Hamm. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church, Crawfordville, and the Young at Heart Class at the church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Williams; four brothers, Homer, Willie, Huey and Luther Hamm; and a sister, Bessie Lilly. Survivors include five sons, Carlie Williams and his wife, Lillian, of McLean, Va., Harold Williams and his wife, Lena, of Lester, Timothy G. Williams of Crawfordville, Gary S. Williams and his wife, Mary, of Fairview and Terry L. Williams of Appomattox, Va.; two daughters, Florence Tyree and her husband, Harry, of Proctorville, Ohio, and Loralie A. Woolwine of Crawfordville,; a brother, Roy Hamm of Lester; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Revs. Darrell Hamm and Ronnie Tyree officiating. Burial will follow in Crews Cemetery, Nimitz. Friends may call 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
