Stephen & Charity (HINZMAN) STARCHER were both born in Lewis Co., Stephen in 1813 & Charity 1819 & came to Roane Co. about 1840's. Two of their sons Isaac & Marion enlisted as Confederate soldiers. They reared seven sons. Of these, Marcellus & William H., the latter died about 1924. An M. STARCHER m. Lelia D. BARNES 11 JUN 1883 in Roane Co. We take this to Marcellus above.
