Keane Family photos (Taylor County, WV)

This was taken in Grafton about 1892 or 1893 (as child in high chair, Lila, was born May 13, 1892). All the people in photo are long deceased.

I have included the writing on back of photo by Dorcas and John's grand-daughter, Malle Marie Keane (Mrs W P Beveridge).

Dorcas and John Keane were my great great grandparents. She was born July 12, 1830 , the daughter of Elizabeth Wolcott and Joshua Hedges King who lived at White Rocks Farm, now a part of Marion County, I think??. She married John Keane Feb 6, 1851. John was from Ireland. I don't know his exact date of birth, but according to the 1850 census of Grafton, he was born in 1821 or 1822. He died in Grafton on Dec 10, 1902. Dorcas died in Grafton on Jan 6, 1899.

Also in picture are 2 of their 6 sons; John, who never married and Francis Marion Keane, "Frank". Frank's wife, lda Virginia Morgan, the daughter of William H Morgan.

The two children are daughters Lila Clair (Mrs James Mantz) and Loar Lee (Mrs Leslie Jonathan Loar),
They had 2 other children not in photo, a son, John, who died as an infant and their oldest daughter, Lena Dale, she died at 14.

Frank Keane was born in Grafton March 22, 1861, and married April 20, 1884. Frank and Ella lived at 310 Thayer Ave in Grafton.

I am the great grand daughter of Dorcas and John's son, William Burton Keane b Aug. 22, 1859 died in Grafton Jul;y1, 1902. The grand daughter who wrote on back of this photo was my grandmother, Malle Marie Keane.

Sarah Elizabeth Limbers and William Burton Keane family."Sadie" Limbers was born in Philippi April 19, 1859 (her obit says 1859, but she was born in 1857) and was the daughter of David and Sarah Elizabeth Corley Limbers of Barbour County. She moved to Grafton where she met and married William Burton Keane on April 19, 1879. He was the son of Dorcas Leaper King and John Keane of Grafton. William was born Aug 22, 1859 and died in Grafton July 1, 1906. His wife Sarah Elizabeth Limbers Keane died in Grafton April 6, 1925. Sadie Keane obit
