I am trying to find out who my grandfather's parents were. My grandfather was Henry Wise JACKSON , born in Stafford Co, VA, 11/14/1859. He came to Taylor Co at some time because that is where my grandmother, Cora Carder, was from. My father was one of their children; Lawrence W. JACKSON , Grafton, WV, born 6/30/1904. Any information you may have pertaining to my grandfather would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for death record of David HOFFMAN b. 1822, 1st spouse Harriet Hinerman, children: Martha b. 1843, James b.1845, Florance b. 1848, Mary b. 1852, Samuel b. 1855, *David b. 1860, Millard (twin)b. 1860, Victoria b. 1862 2nd. spouse Delia b. 1848/51 children: Victoria b.1862 (I think this is the same Victoria as above), Laura E. b. 1870, Emma E.b. 1874, Edward E. b. 1876, Rosa Lee b. 1879. I am looking for information on a William Ervin ROBINSON (born) 1877 , not sure of county; (died) Oct 14, 1940, at age 63, from a gunshot wound in a hunting accident (per family story). William married Eliza Belle GOLDEN , daughter of David & Minerva "Shoulders" GOLDEN . William was 11 years older than Eliza and I believe had two sons, Rancin, and Randall by a first wife. William LUETHKE born about 1837 in Mecklenburg, Prussia arrived in New York 04 Sep. 1865. He settled in S. Subdivision Grafton District in Taylor County from where he worked as a stone mason building tunnels, etc for the Railroad. Within a few years of his arrival, William LUETHKE 's wife Mary born about 1837 in Denmark and their first three children Christanna born about 1863 in Denmark, William born about 1864 in Denmark, and Charles born about 1865 in Denmark joined William in Taylor County, WV. My grandfather, Henry E. LUETHKE , their fourth child, was born in Taylor County, WV 18 February 1869 (if his grave marker is correct). Census records indicate the year of his birth could have been 1868. At least seven more children were born in Taylor Co., WV as follows: Anna about 1870, Frederic about 1872, Mary about 1874, Phersu about 1878, George December 1879 and Josephine about 1880. Can anyone tell me what railroad was operating in Taylor Co. WV around 1870? Also I would appreciate any information anyone can add for the William LUETHKE family and/or the John H. E. M. LUETHKE family which resided in Grafton, Taylor Co., WV in the later half of the 1800s. Thanks, Gene Bradburn.

Lemuel ROGERS married Huldie COURTNEY prob in Taylor Co, and their daughter Frances married Joseph BUNNER son of Randolph & Sarah ( SAPP ) BUNNER , Sarah was the daughter of Samuel SAPP & Minerva MALOTT daughter of Rezin MALOTT & Mary (Polly) FAST. I have no info on Lemuel or his wife Huldie. Is there anyone that is researching this line? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is there a list of the Grafton Guards? My GGgrandfather is the Capt. John A. ROBINSON listed in the Civil War page as the fellow that got knocked off his horse. He came from a large family, and it seems as though after the war the family was not as close. I was wondering if some of his family may have gone with the north. The ROBINSON family was in Taylor Co. from the time Taylor became a county . Joshua O. ROBINSON was a member of the 15 men appointed to set up the county and the father of John A. ROBINSON . Hello, I'm searching for information on Oakley AUSTIN , and his family. Oakley and wife Ocean are buried in Knottsville Methodist Cemetery. I believe that this Oakley is brother to my Charles AUSTIN of the Wheeling area. Hope someone out there knows of this family. Thanks
