Abraham Covalt's Last Will & Testament
In the name of God Amen I Abraham Covolt of Tyler County and
State of Virginia being weak in body, but of Sound and perfect
mind and memory, blessed be almighty God for the same; do make
and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form
following (that is to say) first I give and bequeath unto my
beloved wife Sarah Covolt the plantation on which I now live as
long as she remains my widow but if she marries she is to have
only the east side of the long drain and the west side is to
fall to my daughter Mary I do also give and bequeath unto my
daughter Mary two cows the same cows that I loaned her shortly
after the deceace of her Mother all that tract on which I now
live to have and to hold so long as she lives and at her death I
bequeath to my grand children (namely Abraham and Sarah, to
Sarah Villors the east side of sd plantation and to Abraham
Villors the west side of sd plantation the long drain is to be
the division line between sd Grand children further I give and
bequeath unto my wife Sarah Covolt all my personal property that
I have now in my possession at this time and appoint William and
Sarah Covolt Executors In witness whereof I have herunto set my
hand and seal the _ day of September A.D. 19. 1833
