William Hartzel Bowyer, 64, of Crawford, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston.

He was born Dec. 12, 1935, son of the late William Ralph and Mabel Ruth Smith Bowyer. He was a member of the Faternal Order of Modern Woodsman of American Camp 10321. He was also Co-Owner of D&H Bowyer Lumber.

His parents and one grandson, Nathan, preceded Mr. Bowyer in death.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Mealey Bowyer; two sons, Edwin Hartzel Bowyer of Horner, and Robert Lee Bowyer of Beverly; one daughter, Evelyn Lavon Riffle of Crawford; 8 grandchildren, Andrew William Bowyer, Brittney LeeAnn Bowyer, Allison Whitney Bowyer, Amber Rayetta Riffle and Laura, Daniel, Yvoune and Tammy Boyles; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Miller; one brother, Drexell Ralph Bowyer of Crawford; three sisters, Ada Lavaughn Depoy of Allen, KY., Helen Jane Metzgar of Crawford, and Maxine Louise Metzgar of Helvetia.

Friends and family will be received at the Alkire Funeral Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Feb. 15, 2000 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Bender officiating. Burial will follow at the Wimer Cemetery.

John Richard Booth, 69, of Buckhannon, died Sunday Jan 16, 2000 at his home.

He was born July 31, 1930, the son of the late William and Ava McCauley Booth.

He was a Conservation Officer for the DNR and served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Booth is survived by one son, Joseph R. Booth of Winfield; one daughter, Deborah Booth of Rock Branch; one granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Booth of Winfiled; and one grandson, Joseph Wayne Booth of Winfield.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, Jan 23, 2000 at 3 p.m. in the Buckhannon Manor Community Room with the Rev. Otvis Koon officiating. Friends and family are welcome to attend.

William L. Nesbitt, 67, of Buckhannon, died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his home.

He was born May 13, 1932, the son of the late R.F. and Jennie Opal Reed Nesbitt. He was retired as a supervisor for the City of Buckhannon Waste Department, was a member of Chapel Hill UM Church, and served with the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joyce M. Bouchard Nesbitt; and one brother James Richard Nesbitt.

Mr. Nesbitt is survived by two sons, Daniel Nesbitt of Buckhannon, and David Nesbitt of Buckhannon; one daughter, Pamela Morris of Buckhannon; 6 grandchildren; two brothers, Jackson N. Nesbitt of Buckhannon, and Joseph G. Nesbitt of Ca.; two sisters, Maryann Tricase of South Carolina, and Charlotte Sweitzer of South Carolina.

Friends and family were received Sunday, April 9, 2000 at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Services will be held today, April 10, 2000 at 1 p.m. with the Rev, Dr. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Union Cemetery.

Charles F. Bennett, 83, of Buckhannon, dies Saturday, April 15, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 16, 1916, son of the late Raymond J. and Ida Mae Pence Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a maintenance supervisor for the Buckhannon Housing Authority, served in the Army from 1941-45, was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church, and the Buckhannon VFW Post 3663.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ford Bennett, Osbert B. Bennett, and Russell E. Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Bennett of Buckhannon; one son, Charles F. Bennett, II of Buckhannon; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Woodford of Buckhannon; one brother, Glenn R. Bennett of Clinton, Ohio; one grandson, John David Bennett of Newark, Ohio; and one granddaughter; Tracy Marie Bennett of Buckhannon.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, April 18, 2000, from 6-8 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be held Wednesday, April 19, at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Ellis Conley officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.

Buckhannon VFW Post 3663 and Frank B. Bartlett Post 7 American Legion will conduct military rites at the graveside.

Mabel G. Bragg, 84, of Adrain, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at Holbrook Nursing Home in Buckhannon.

She was born Jan. 18, 1916, at Bays, a daughter of the late Okey B. and Santa E. Harris Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Oliver Rose; two sisters, Mirl Butcher and May Bowers.

Mrs. Bragg is survived by her husband, Fred G. Bragg; fours sons, Okey Bragg of Weston, Owen Bragg of Adrian, Dana Bragg of Ripley, and Orland Bragg of Marietta, Ohio; two daughters, Evelyn Susan Bragg Tryon of Kent, Ohio and Edryth Louise Bragg Harris of Hurricane; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Florence Ware of Adrian.

She was a member of the Gould Christian Church.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, April 13, 2000, from 3-5 p.m. p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Bragg will be moved to the Gould Christian Church Friday, where she will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. with Pastor Larry Anderson and Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park .

Rev. Vorse D. Davidson, 86, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday April 25, 2000, at Talbott Personal Care Home.

He was born June 14, 1913, in Canaan, a son of the late William Richard and Mary Bennett Davidson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Cowger Davidson of Buckhannon; four sons, Edward Davidson of Martinsville, VA., Robert Davidson of Bassett, VA., Ronald Davidson of Buckhannon and Ralph Davidson of Buckhannon; one sister Clevie Davidson of Buckhannon; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He worked in timber, was a coal miner, and a carpenter. Rev. Davidson devoted over 30 years as a minister before retirement. His last charge was Cutright Chapel and he was a Christian by faith.

Visitation was yesterday at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held today April 28, 2000, at 2 p.m. at the funeral chapel with the Rev.'s Junior Harris and Brandley Tenney officiating. Burial will follow at the Upshur County Memorial Park.
