James F. Butcher, 70, of Uniontown, Ohio, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999.
He was born in Ritchie County on Jan. 27, 1929, son of the late Clark and Alta King Butcher.
His wife, Geraldine Louise Butcher, whom he married 48 years ago, survives.
Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Anna "Vickie" Butcher of Uniontown; three grandchildren, Tina (Carl) Sturtz, Carrie (Michael) McBride and Matthew Butcher; three great-grandchildren, Carl Sturtz IV, Victoria Sturtz and Mikayla McBride; four brothers, Fred (Betty) Butcher, Hobert (Louise) Butcher of Cortland, Guy Butcher of Newton Falls and Charles Butcher of Austintown; four sisters; Clara (Fred) Wert, Dolly (Bernard) Lloyd, Jenny (Andy) Masko of Corland and Mary Butcher.
He was preceeded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Russell Butcher, and one great-grandson, C.J. Sturtz.
Visitation was yesterday at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown. Funeral services are today at 11: am with Rev. Roby Hylton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery, with military graveside services by Firestone Post VFW 3383.

Edytha Lucile Every, 89, of Fort Myers, Fl.. died Feb. 3, 1999 at Hospice House.
She was born Aug. 26, 1909 at Charleston, daughter of the late Marcus C. Morgan and Annabelle Anderson Morgan.
She was a typist.
Graveside services willl be Saturday at 3: pm at Hevner Cemetery with the Rev. Ellis Conley officiating.

George Henry McCartney, 67 of Buckhannon Manor, died Monday Feb. 15, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born April 5, 1931 at Pickens, son of Bennett McCartney and Cladrida Bachmann McCartney.
He was preceeded in death by his father, one brother, one sister and one son.
Surviving are his mother, his daughters, Leona Groves of Heaston Ridge, Norine Cindy Rogers of Wales, England, Darlene Kay Riffle of Bush Run, Tracy Scott of Buckhannon, and Kerry Taylor of London, England; his son Kevin McCartney of Morsyside, England, his sisters, Mae Collins and Rebecca Jediny both of Buckhannon; his brother William Edward McCartney of Louuiseville, Ky; and his aunt Mary Koon of Warren, Ohio.
He was a cable manufacturer and served in the U.S. Air Force durning the Korean Conflict.
Visitation was yesterday. Funeral is today at 2 pm at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Heavner.
Burial will be at Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery.

William Taylor Sines, 94, of Holbrook's Nursing Home and formerly of Goshen, died Sunday March 21, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born Arpil 19, 1904 at Goshen, son of the late Ulysses Grant Sines and Lilly Grace Daff Sines. He later married Mabel Miles Sines who proceeded him in death in 1982.
Surviving are one sister, Naomi Sines Coe of Pittsburgh, PA., and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by two brothers, Oliver Sines and Quinter Sines, one half brother Oliver Daff, and four sisters, Sivil Sines, Samary Sines, Clara Bender and Ada Gregory.
He was a farmer most of his life.
Visitation was yesterday at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral will be tomorrow at 2 pm at the funeral chapel with the Rev. David Jessie officiating. Burial will follow ar Goshen Cemetery in Goshen.

Wanda Mae Nethken, 61, of Rock Cave died Wednesday, may 26, 1999 at her home.
Born March 22, 1938 at Canaan, she was a daughter of the late Orvil Clinton and Icie May Strader Chidester.
She was married to Arden Ray Nethken, who proceeded her in death in June 1985.
Survivors in clude two sons, Mark Nethken and Darren Nethken both of Canaan; a sister Lois Arbogast of Kesling Mills; five brothers, Elmer Chidester, Ersel Chidester, both of Canaan, Bufford Chidester of York, PA., John Chidester of Rock Cave and Roger Chidester of Frederick, MD.; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Nethken was retired from the Upshur County Board of Education, was an avid quilter, loved to crochet and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be recieved at the Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home tomorrow from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Mrs. Nethken will lie in state at Canaan United Mehodist Church Sunday 1-2 pm., the funeral hour. The Rev. Junior B. Harris will officiate at the funeral services, and burial will be at Canaan Cemetery.

Just to let you know, MaryEllen (Bootsie) Robinson, on the Georgetown Community passed away Sunday evening at her home.
Services will be help at The Way Of Holiness Church in Buckhannon, visitation today 2-9 and the funeral tomorrow at 11 am.
She was my husband, Scott Belt's sister.

Mirrel B. Cutright, 79, of Philippi, died Wednesday, June 9 at the Broaddus Hospital.
He was born Feb. 23, 1920 in Upshur County, a son of the late Adrian Mirrel Cutright and the late Amy Shipman Cutright.
His wife Ida Emogene Siron Cutright, whom he married Oct. 3, 1941, survives.
Also surviving are: one son John M. Cutright of Philippi; one sister, Ruth White of Elkins; one brother, Howard Cutright of Buckhannon; one grandson, John Eric Cutright; and two granddaughters, Kristin Jo Cutright and Patricia Jean Cutright.
He was preceeded in death by one sister Melva Linger.
He was employed by Mountain State Water Company. He retired as owner and operator of South End Market with 33 and a half years of service. He was a veteran serving with the United States Navy in the South Pacific. Mr. Cutright attended Crim Memorial Methodist Church.
Visitation is Friday at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi after 3 p.m.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemtery with American Legion Post 44 conducting graveside rites.

Clarinda May McCartney, 92, of Buckhannon, died Monday July 5, 1999, at her home.
Born May 28, 1907 at Pickens, she was the daughter of the late Henry Bachmann and Eliza Hamrick Bachmann.
Her husband, Bennett McCartney, whom she married in 1928, died in 1966. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Isaac F. McCartney and George Henry McCartney; 15 brothers and one sister; one daughter; Luvadia McCartney Hickman and two grandsons, Gerrad McCartney and William McCartney.
Surviving are two daughters, Mae Collins and Rebecca Jediny of Buckhannon; one son, William Eddy McCartney of Louisville, KY.; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister Mary Koon of Warren, Ohio.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Brethren Church.
Visitation is today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert F. Heavner officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery at Selbyville.

Edna M. Morrison, 91, of French Creek died Friday July 23, 1999 at Holbrook Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 7, 1907 at Crawford, daughter of the late James Lot Heavner and Mary Elizabeth Simmons Heavner.
Her husband Clause Cecil Morrison, died Feb. 18, 1971. Also preceeding her in death were one son, Eugene "Bob" Morrison; one daughter Winona Reuss; and four brothers anf three sisters.
Surviving are five sons, Edward "Pete: Morrison of Gretna, La., John F. Morrison of Clarksburg, Joseph H. Morrison of French Creek, James L. Morrison of French Creek, and Charles M. Morrison of French Creek.; two daughters, Freta M. Roby of Frenchton and Leona Pelascini of Ureka, CA.
A home maker, she was a member of Rock Cave Baptist Church and a born-again Christain.
Visitation is today from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Morrison will lie in state tomorrow at Rock Cave Baptist Church 1-2 pm. Funeral will begin at 2pm with Pator David Jesse and David Phillips officiating.
Burial will be at French Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.

George O. Jackson, 82, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, July 27, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born Aug. 27, 1916 at Buckhannon, son of the late Minter Jason Jackson and Mary Virginia Booth Jackson.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary AnnAndrews of Myrtle Beach, SC., three sons: George E. Jackson of Green Cove Springs, FL., Jack R. Jackson of Yeaddiss, Ky., and Thomas J. Jackson of Mauertown, VA.; one sister Woody Montgomery of Murrells Inlet, SC., one brother, Warren Jackson of Buckhannon; and one grandson, Richard J. Andreas of Myrtle Beach.
He was a railroader, a member of the Lake Lodge AF&AM in Cresent City, FL.
At Mr. Jacksons request, there will be no funeral services.

Lilliam M. Jackson, 87, of Gaithersburg, MD., died Friday, July 30, 1999 at Montgomery General Hospital.
She was born June 27, 1912 at Buckhannon, daughter of the late Ira Waugaman and Redella Grimm Waugaman.
Her Husband Oren Robert Jackson, died 1967.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Laural Jackson of Gaithersburg; one son, Larry Neil Jackson of Gaithersburg; five grandchildren, Tim Jackson of Freedom, PA, Meloney Jackson of Spotsylvania, VA., Genesis Jackson of Marion, SC., Amanda Jackson of Freedom, PA., and Sunny Jackson of Freedom; six great-grandchildren; and one brother Charles Waugaman of Buckhannon.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.
Visitation is today from 10-11 am at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. Funeral willbegin today at 11 am with the Rev. Robert Poling officiating. Burial will follow at Sand Run Baptist Church.

Richard Gordan Bennett, 70, of Rock Cave died Saturday, August 14, 1999 at Holbrook Nursing Home.
He was born in Deer Township, Pa., March 13, 1929, a son of the late Ireland and Mary Teter Bennett.
His wife, Dorothy Riley Bennett, whom he married October 15, 1971, survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael R. Bennett of California and Richard Gregory Bennett of Browns Mill, NJ.; eight daughters, Harriet L. Good of New Egypt, NJ., Dorothy E. Haluska of Fieldboro, NJ., Donna Winkler of Bethlehem, Conn., Lydia May Kemble of Morrisville, Pa., Donna Bennett of Holland, Mich., Lisa Ann Ewashko of Bordentown, NJ, Patricia LaMont of New Egypt, NJ., and Laura Cosner of Bordentown, NJ.; 27 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceeded in death by one brother and one sister.
He was a member of New Egypt Pyramid Masonic Lodge 92 AF&AM, and Sphinx Chapter 130 Order of Eastern Star of New Egypt, NJ.
He retired from the United States Army after serving in both Vietnam and the Korea.
He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church.
Visitation is today from 4-8 pm. at the Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home.Funeral will be tomorrow at Arlington Baptist Church at 1 pm with the Rev. Michael Wamsley and Rev. David Hamrick officiating. Aletha Chapter 82 Order of Eastern Star will hold services at the funeral home this evening from 7-9 pm.

George A. Leslie, 81, died Friday, July 15, 1999 at his home in Pebble Beach, CA.
Born August 26, 1917 at Portland, Ore., the retired Air Force colonel had lived in Pebble Beach for 374 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hannah Leslie, formerly of Buckhannon; two daughters, Susan Quinn of Morgan Hill, CAlif., and Mary Leslie of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister Virginia Bailey of Camas, Wash.,; a brother, William Leslie of Lake Oswego, Ore.; two grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Esta A. Hannah of Buckhannon; and his brother-in-law, Guy Hannah, Jr. of Hudson, Ohio.
Mass was celebrated at St. Angela's Catholic Church in Pacigic Grove, Calif., with burial following at San Carlos Catholic Cemetery at Monterey, Calif.
