My grandfather was a devoted coal miner and now deceased his name was perry hackney he worked in the coal mines 47 years. and when i left home he told me make sure i work for a place that has a union. and i did. he passed away nov. 1995 his wife mattie hackney passed in april 1999. he had black lung and a crippled leg from working and got hurt in slate fall.
